Protecting your personal data is important to us. We treat your data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this Privacy Policy.

3. What data we process

When visiting the website

When you access our website, technical information is processed automatically, including:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access

  • operating system
  • referrer URL (if transmitted)
  • pages accessed
  • technical error logs

This data serves solely to ensure secure and stable operation of the website.

4. Sign-in via Discord

Sign-in is exclusively via Discord (OAuth).

We receive only the data that Discord transmits after your consent, in particular:

  • Discord ID
  • Discord username
  • Discord display name
  • Discord profile picture (avatar)

Your Discord password is never transmitted to or stored by RPCutter.

Sign-in serves to create and manage your user account.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

5. User account

After successful sign-in, a user account is created. The following data may be stored:

  • Discord ID
  • username
  • profile picture
  • registration
  • login timestamps
  • language setting
  • public profile information
  • upload history
  • number of detected kills
  • statistics about generated clips
  • likes received
  • published clips

6. Uploading videos

To use RPCutter you can upload gameplay recordings. Uploaded videos are processed solely to:

  • detect kills
  • create clips automatically
  • provide the desired video segments

The original VOD is deleted automatically after successful processing.

7. Storage of clips

Generated clips are assigned to your user account. Each user decides whether a clip is public or private.

All generated clips are automatically deleted no later than 30 days after creation, unless removed earlier.

8. Public clips

If you mark a clip as public, other users can view it. Public clips may contain the following information:

  • Discord username
  • Discord avatar
  • number of likes
  • number of views
  • creation date

Please only publish content you wish to make public.

9. Likes

Users can rate public clips. The following is stored:

  • which user liked a clip
  • the time of the like

This data serves solely to display the like count and to prevent multiple ratings.

10. Leaderboards

RPCutter creates public leaderboards. These may contain, among other things:

  • Discord username
  • Discord profile picture
  • number of detected kills
  • ranking

Leaderboards can be generated daily, weekly, monthly or all-time.

11. Advertising

Advertising content may be shown during certain usage processes.

Technical information required for delivering or measuring the success of advertising may be processed.

Where legally required, this is done only after appropriate consent.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

RPCutter uses strictly necessary cookies and comparable technologies to:

  • enable sign-in
  • store language settings
  • ensure the security of the website
  • maintain user sessions

Where optional cookies (e.g. analytics or advertising) are used, this is done only with your consent, where legally required. See the Cookie information.

13. Server log files

To ensure system security, server log files are stored. These may contain:

  • IP address
  • browser information
  • time of access
  • error codes
  • resources accessed

Storage is solely for error analysis and to ensure technical operation.

14. Retention period

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as long as statutory retention obligations exist. In particular:

  • Original VODs are deleted after successful processing.
  • Generated clips are automatically deleted after 30 days at the latest.
  • Server logs are stored only for a limited period.
  • Account data remains until the user account is deleted, unless statutory retention obligations preclude this.

15. Legal bases

The processing of personal data is based in particular on:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or use of the platform)
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations)
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests)
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, where required)

16. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have in particular the following rights:

  • information about your stored data
  • rectification of incorrect data
  • erasure of your data
  • restriction of processing
  • data portability
  • objection to certain processing
  • withdrawal of a given consent

In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.

17. Data security

RPCutter uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, manipulation, unauthorised access and other unlawful processing.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy where necessary due to technical developments, legal changes or new platform features.
